- Melissa Neacsu commented on Jaffa! Kree!: I couldn't

I couldn't resist commenting here, my husband and I being huge Stargate fans.
We both really liked the pilot for SGU despite the fact that it received some negative reviews. We've since downloaded the second episode on iTunes (we don't have TV) but haven't watched it yet. My fear for SGU is that it will be too soap-opera-ish a la Battlestar Galactica. I can't stomach that many cliff-hangers. It's too early to tell whether this will be a problem with SGU. Also, some strong language, sexuality, and violence means we can't watch it with our son. Still, we are excited to see how the rest of the season shapes up. Overall the characters are likable (if only for their detestability), and where do I know that video game guy from? He looks so familiar. I'm loving that they put an IOA official on board, and the Richard Dawkins/obsessive math professor hybrid also makes for good sci-fi drama.
I'm looking forward to watching the next episode. What do you think of the series so far?
