Pardon me for being quiet. We are taking time off school this week to celebrate a special day - D's 14th birthday. Pardon me once more while I have a Mom-moment and publicly wish my dear a happy birthday.

One Day Old

Fourteen years ago today, this precious girl came into my life and made me a Mother.

Age 2

I did not know on that day that she would soon grow into a little firecracker.

Daily I am surprised by this amazing creature. I have rarely met someone as selfless, gentle, creative, or vivacious as she. I am happy to know the young woman she is becoming.

I love you, Sweet Pea. Many happy returns of the day.

Happy Birthday to your daughter! She is a beautiful young lady!

My son will be 14 in January. Time just flies, doesn't it? It's amazing to watch him grow up.

Thank you, Salena! Yes, the time flies. Sometimes it feels I'm clutching sand that is sifting too quickly through my fingers.
